This is the part no photo shows: the formula weighed out on the scale, then lightener painted stroke by stroke exactly where the sun would put it. Every head is mixed to measure, never from a memorized recipe.
That is the whole difference between balayage and a stencil of highlights. It is judgment, applied with a brush.

What’s the difference between balayage and highlights?
Highlights are woven in foils from root to end, precise, brighter, more contrast. Balayage is hand-painted onto the surface of the hair, so it grows out soft with no hard line. Most of our lived-in blondes are actually a blend of both, decided at your consultation based on your hair and how often you want to be in the chair.
How much does balayage cost in West Palm Beach?
At Scotch Bonnet, partial balayage starts at $120 and full balayage at $160 with a Stylist, rising by level to $204+ and $300+ with our most senior chairs. Every price is confirmed at a free consultation first, density, length and your starting color all change the work involved.
How long does balayage last?
That’s the point of it, because there’s no hard regrowth line, a good balayage wears beautifully for three to six months with a gloss or toner in between. It’s the lowest-maintenance way to be blonde.
Will it work on dark hair?
Yes, dimensional caramel and bronde balayage on dark bases is some of the studio’s best-loved work. Dark hair usually needs a more gradual lightening plan to stay healthy, which is exactly what the consultation maps out.
