How a correction works here
Every correction starts with a free consultation, in person or over the phone with photos. A colorist looks at what’s actually on your hair, tests where it’s at, and maps the safest route to where you want to be. You leave that conversation with a real price and a real timeline. No surprises at the desk, ever.
Why we won’t rush it
Old color has to come out gently or the hair pays for it. Some corrections finish in one visit; the honest ones sometimes take two or three, with conditioning work in between. We’d rather hand you healthy hair in stages than broken hair in an afternoon, and we’ll always tell you which one you’re looking at before we start.
Who does the work
Corrections at Scotch Bonnet are led by our senior chairs. Owner Tracy Vasquez has 25+ years behind the chair, trained with and taught alongside Nick Arrojo, and teaches corrective color to working professionals on this same floor. If your hair has been “fixed” twice already, this is where it stops being an experiment.
Corrections are chemistry, not guesswork
Every formula here is built in software and weighed to the gram, so what worked on your hair once can be repeated, adjusted or reversed. When your color history lives on record, session two starts exactly where session one left off.
That is what fixing someone else’s work takes: measurements, patience and a plan you can see.

Corrections are quoted individually at your free consultation, because the price depends entirely on what’s already on your hair, how many layers of old color, how compromised the hair is, and how far you want to go. You’ll get a real number and a realistic timeline before anyone mixes anything.
Can it be fixed in one visit?
Sometimes, and we’ll tell you honestly when it can’t. Lifting years of box dye or repairing over-bleached hair safely often takes two or more sessions. Doing it in one aggressive sitting is how hair breaks; we won’t do that to you.
Can you fix color from another salon?
Corrective color is some of our favorite work. Whether it’s banding, brassiness, a highlight gone wrong, or a vivid that faded strangely, book the consultation and bring photos of what you actually want.
I dyed my hair at home and it went wrong. Now what?
Stop. Don’t layer another box on top, every layer makes the correction longer and more expensive. Call or text us, send photos, and let a colorist look before you touch it again.
